Sustainable Materials

The type of fabric your t-shirt is made from determines how much environmental destruction it ultimately causes.

By using organic cotton, these practices can be reversed. The garment can be recycled or composted.

Lower water consumption:

To produce one piece of inorganic cotton t-shirt, we need to spend approximately 3.000 lt. of water. Just to put it into perspective, an average person needs approximately 30 months to consume this water. In comparison, a GOTS certified organic cotton requires much less water and that is around 243 lt. of water which means almost 90% less water consumption versus a non-organic t-shirt.

WHY & HOW?

This is mainly driven by the health of the soil. Organic growing systems are better for the soil as they maintain a higher soil quality. The soil is more resilient and can withstand extreme weather. Healthy soil can absorb and retain water for longer periods which means “Organic Cotton needs to be watered less!”
Organic farming also has a huge impact on the local water reserves as the farmers of organic cotton tend to rely on rain to water the crops, rather than extracting water from local reserves which helps to protect the local water resources.
